chuckmum6
Closed the curtains on a white world, opened them this morning to green and mud coloured world!
Alis girls
Mud is not the word - girls are up to their knees (if chucks have knees) and managed a quick clean - run is a mess - and we have a soggy lawn - green as oposed to white
Ain't Nobody Here
That was the quickest thaw I've ever seen . Thank goodness it's gone!
Egluntyne
We had 15 minutes of sleet in blazing sunshine an hour or so ago, but the melt continues. The garden is a quagmire.
Seagazer
We went to a polo tournament in Bedford yesterday and a youth team from Kingston-upon-Hull had followed a snow plough down the motorway so they were very plucky for driving all that way. Charlottechicken
We have had several very heavy rain showers overnight, and all the white stuff is gone. However, we are now experiencing something resembling sleet, accompanied by high winds, from the north. The temperature has dropped considerably from this morning
The Dogmother
Total melt here too, no snow left at all. Just got back from Evesham and the river is flooded.
craftyhunnypie
OMG! Today I have witnessed some of the most horrendous floods I have ever seen in my life at Llanmynach ( between Oswestry & Welshpool). I was driving back from my sisters house after a lovely weekend & by the time I got to Llanmynach I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Rivers have burst their banks due to the thawing of all the snow! Such deep deep water everywhere - extremely dangerous. I took the diversion route recommended, but by the time I got down there - the river had burst there too. Lucky for me a nice couple told me to follow them, as they needed to get to Llanidloes. We had to all head back to Shrewsbury to get back to Welshpool. By the time we reached Welshpool, the same was happening there. Luckily we managed to get through (just). It added so much time to my journey - rather tired now. But at least I am home safe. I hope others are safe! Emma.x

Eggasperated
Snowed here last evening and overnight. It has stopped snowing now but it is still on the ground and a freezing cold wind is making it not very pleasant - although it's quite pretty looking out from inside . The Dogmother
Snowing heaven's high here! And thundering and lightening! Blimey, that's quite a combination. I thought of you this morning when I heard that the snow gates were closed on Snake Pass.
Lavenders_Blue
Had to go to Peterborough this afternoon for work - just as I was about to leave I looked out of the window to see a blizzard! Nothing at home, thank goodness.
Charlottechicken
We had a smattering of snow this morning, and several snow showers throughout the day. Sounds bad up north again
The Dogmother
We had a brief snow shower around 4pm - big fluffy ones, but it's been sleet and high winds since.
freddie
It's blowing itself inside out here, all the windows are shrieking!! I put laundry out today, 3 Loads, and used many many pegs to keep it on the line. One sheet went awol, the dog and I found it about 500 yards away, in the sheep field!! Rewash needed!. I took the precaution of counting what I'd hung out!! We had "snail"(sleet and hail) this am, I was walking the dog, and gto blasted. Not sure how good that was for my poor skin, which is already knacked after the Looooong Winter!!
Egluntyne
Wow! I'm impressed that you peg washing out in February.
Egluntyne
Snowing heaven's high here. Again. I think I preferred the old days, when the weatherfolk got it wrong.
