chickencam
It has been snowing for most of the day here, just fine stuff and only sticking to existing snow not to clear wet paths. DSis supposed to be going on a school trip to Parliament on Tuesday I can't see it going ahead though, we have more snow forecast for tomorrow and heavy on Tuesday morning
craftyhunnypie
No more snow for us - thank god. Managed to give the chooks a clean today at last. Snow is still about a metre deep in places where it drifted the other day. Some of the chooks have braved it today & actually came out their eglus. Mind you it is the first time they have had their food outside in their runs for 2 days. To keep them warm & give them energy, we've been putting it inside with them through the night. I can put up with light snow & maybe even heavy, but with that swirling wind, making it drift - it's been horrendous & stressful. It even blew snow inside 2 of the eglus on Friday ( under the gap near the poo trays) & we had to quickly rescue chooks & bring them inside to warm up! Good job we did or we would have had a few deaths. I cried when I saw what had happened. Freak weather! Hope everyone is keeping safe & warm. Porridge, soup, casseroles & Rice pudding - all needed this weather. Plus lots of tea & hot chocolate. Emma.x

sjp
we've had about 4inches again today half of that since 2:30pm when I dug a path to the coops still snowing plus the temp. is dropping
Lavenders_Blue
We've had more snow here this afternoon too. I was down at my parents' this afternoon - left about 5pm but glad I didn't leave it any later as the hill out of town towards our village was reeeaally slippy and there was already one car abandoned by the side of the road! Hubby is on his way back from watching a rugby match in Leicester with some friends (why anyone wants to sit out in the freezing cold to watch sport beats me - I watched the game with a cup of tea in the comfort of a centrally heated house ). I hope they make it back okay, I have warned them about the state of the roads. There is 5 of them in the car so plenty of man power to get out and push the car if needed I suppose! Shirl
I think the snow has just about stopped now but it has been snowing all day but we probably only have a couple of inches. I think we've got away lightly so far.
Charlottechicken
Hubby is on his way back from watching a rugby match in Leicester with some friends (why anyone wants to sit out in the freezing cold to watch sport beats me Ditto OH is back in Brum now, from a rugby match in Llanelli, and has just phoned to say the roads are bad. Funny but I emailed him at 4 to tell them all not to hang around as it was snowing heavens high here. They stayed on for an hour instead of coming straight home, and now he's having trouble as the roads are bad!

Egluntyne
It's here now. Snowing heavily, and no sign of the gritters.
SarahJo
Snowing again in Cheshire - would be nice to have a snow day tomorrow for mine and ES birthday
The Dogmother
It has been snowing steadily all afternoon; fine stuff but plenty of it. It wasn't settling at first but appears to be now. I walked down to the main road earlier and they could do with getting the gritters out again!
bluekarin
So there I was quite looking forward to the snow leaving us from tomorrow, but it appears there is more coming
Christian
Fine grains of snow here for an hour or so today, but nothing since lunchtime. Might just miss it tomorrow as on the edge 'of the red'!

counturchickens
Just got up to find a new covering of snow. Roads looking a bit tricky at the moment, hopefully they will be clearer before I head off, although still snowing.
Egluntyne
Still snowing heavily here, and has been all night. Looks to be about 6-8 cms deep. Even though I live on a busy A road, which is one of the main routes into Sheffield, there has been no sign all night of the gritters, and the road is completely covered. chuckmum6
So far we are snowed in, it didn't stop snowing last night and nothing is getting up the hill out of the village.
Purplemaniacs
Lots of snow here. The school I work at in Rutland is closed today. Can we have spring please, I don't like this white stuff Chrissie

Groovychook
Ooh, I wonder if we're going to get any up this end? It's long thawed since our helping last week- just the odd remnant of a snowman at the side if the road! It's icy and cold this morning in North Cornwall... but lovely and dry underfoot! Bramble
i'm very fed up, had hoped that I wouldn't be able to get to work, but sadly I could - though the roads are pretty dodgy and very fine snow is still coming down ... snow is totally pointless if it doesn't get me a day off work (well, at least a day working at home). chuckmum6
We are all having a snow day, only half the staff have made it in to school, we are one of the furthest away. We have cleared the drive, done a dog walk, I'll make a nice lunch and we will settle down to watch a film . We had a lot come down last night, it is lovely out there, I might make a snowman, if I can drag the children out!
The Dogmother
It has been around freezing all day, but no more snow and there's some dripping going on out there. There are going to be some awful floods when this lot melts
