keyhole kate Posted July 18, 2014 Share Posted July 18, 2014 Some may remember my YD wanted to do a midwifery degree and had the required points but there weren't enough places so choose an Adult Nursing degree hoping to do a conversion course afterwards well she is on her last 12 week placement of her three year adult Nursing degree. (no ceremony till Nov though) Wednesday she interviewed for an 18 month Midwifery degree/masters she told us she wouldn't hear until September however last night she received a call offering her a place as she was one of two outstanding candidates that they didn't want to lose to other uni's. As she didn't expect to be in that category she hadn't bothered to mention outstanding candidates would hear sooner to us To say that she and we are thrilled and delighted is an understatement this has been her dream since she was 8 years old she said the news still hasn't sunk in. keyhole kate Posted July 19, 2014 Author Share Posted July 19, 2014 Thanks everyone We are very very proud of her she so deserves it she has worked incredibly hard even now most of her friends have finished and graduated she still slogging away and doesn't finish her last ward placement until September. She tailored all her GCSE,s and A levels with midwifery mind and even when she didn't get a place she just forged on. I don't think I could have done some of the things she's had to do in the last three years and she's still only twenty one.She is a true testament to anything being possible if you work hark and are determined enough you can succeed.
