The Good Life - an update! - photo heavy...

Recommended Posts

Def. not the first black sheep in my family....:lol: - that would be me

I was heartily sick of walking up and down looking at her rear end  Weeks ago whenever the weather was bad we would shut her in the barn - much to her disgust

She will be staying - we keep the girls and eat the boys!

We have 3 girls and 3 boys - and the two which were aborted were a boy and a girl so that would have been four of each.

Just have to sort out some names now.

We had fetching green ones yesterday :D

You mean you're not hardcore farmers with no gloves?:lol:

That's not very nice for the sheep :( - and may increase the chance of infection.....as we've now had the bill for the Vet callout for the poorly Kerry Hill and delivery of the dead lambs......and we need to rob a bank to pay it.... , we could do without any further problems!

It's not so bad if they use an anti-bacterial scrub and then obstetric gel - we prefer to use gloves and gel.

We tagged and tailed the last little lamb this morning. She had a very mucky bum and so she was dunked in a bucket of warm soapy water and sorted out - green gloves on again  We let the ewe and lamb out the the ewe went straight to her Mum....a little family group, aaaaaaah! I took photos and will post one later.

We let them out between heavy showers - a horrible day here but the ewe wanted to get to the grass.

We need to sort out all the hurdles to make a race now as the sheep shearer is coming "some time this week" - we're hoping that the weather is a bit better this evening.
