Redwing Posted November 20, 2010 Share Posted November 20, 2010 My barred Wyandotte bantams did me proud at the National show today I entered two classes and won them both (there were 20 entries in one class and 18 in the other) In one class my birds got first and fourth In the other my birds got first, second and fourth Then to my astonishment one of my cockerels then won the breed club championship and was taken to champions row Then he won his class there to get on to the Championship circle as best softfeather bantam (heavy breed) and best bantam male and a nice silver cup So out of thousands of entries we got down to the last eight or so Some people wait years for an honour like this I feel so lucky, best of all its a cockerel that I bred too The winner was a very deserving large white Wyandotte cockerel, his owner has had a rough year so it was good to see him take the top honour Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Those are large classes to win on their own, but to go all the way to best S/F bant (heavy) is amazing, and with your own breeding as well, its really tough to achieve.
