We woke this morning to having had a shower of snow -so officially a white New year as well as a white xmas - not a lot and seems to be melting fast but maybe more on its way...

All gone here now, finally!! Just little bits left on the pavements but nothing much.

We've had more today it has been pretty cold all day and started to snow those tiny flecks around 4pm. It was doing proper flakes around 5pm but seems to have stopped now.

Tiny flakes of snow here too from about 2ish.....still snowing now.

We have had about 1cm since 2.30pm, it isn't really sticking to paths and roads much but everywhere else is white again. 2 children are hoping to go to school to keep up with work and the youngest yr7 is hoping for a longer holiday

We had a smattering of snow around 5pm and it froze - nothing since.

Obviously no more over night, but a sprinkling from before that. It's very icy though, so take care everyone.

Very sunny here but the odd little sprinkle of snow keeps fluttering by. Driving conditions on the A57 ( Snake Pass) just a few miles away are hazardous because of snow, so am guessing that we are in for some more.

I have just looked out of window for the first time in about an hour and a half and every s"Ooops, word censored!" of what was a thin but even covering of snow has gone. It is quite strange it must have melted very quickly 3.5 degrees here so hardly tropical although the sun did make a very brief appearance, that must have been it.

We had the lightest icing sugar dusting this morning, but it was all gone within an hour.

Big fat flakes falling here. Car windscreens are now covered. Only just started though, it was raining at 7, when I got downstairs 5 minutes later it was snowing!

Snow has just about stopped now. We've had a good half an inch or more, it's even settled on the washing line. Road is pretty slushy, but traffic is moving, and the forecast for this afternoon is warmer, around 7 degrees, so it should all melt

Yesterday rain, rain and more rain. The afternoon rain and huge great heavy flakes of snow dropping like stones, luckily it didn't settle and was more slushy flakes than light fluffy ones. Then back to rain. This morning rain, rain and more rain. Am thinking of going to the timber merchants and building an ark.

Just when I had planned a mega shop as we are supposed to be hosting the family get together which was cancelled at Christmas .... because of the snow. Arrrrgggghhhh

Opened the window to tell the cockerels to shut up and it was all white!

We probably only have about an inch but wasn't expecting it

Yep loads of snow here too....my neighbour went for her flu jab this morning and whilst she was in the doctor's surgery it really came down. She ended up abandoning her car and her husband went out his Jeep to pick her up, she was in the valley below here and all the bus routes were snowed up with buses turning back. I offered Baby Landy's services, but he wasn't needed this time. I think I'll hibernate.....wake me up in Spring....

It snowed heavy here early this morning, but turned to slush immediately. Roads were still treacherous though - neighbours car ended up in a ditch and two main hilly roads were impassable for a short while. Ridiculous!
