Charlottechicken
A few of my colleagues have been raving about Wobble, something to do with standing on a power plate for 15 or 20 minutes and doing a few exercises, while the machine vibrates like mad I had a card through the door recently, and a salon has opened on the main road, backing onto my house almost, offering a free wobble session, and I wondered if any of my fellow Omleteers are 'wobblers' . I did walk past today and was rather intimidated by the young pampered girls in the salon, they also do all manner of waxing, nails, tans and vajazzles Wondering whether to take the plunge now
Space Chick
I read that as Womble I thought, I often make good use of the things that i find, things that they everyday folks leave behind Never heard of it... I don't need a wobble board to wobble... My fat manages it quite well on its own

Tutti Frutti
I thought you were another one who'd spent the afternoon in the pub with a pitcher of Pimms in the sunshine I think you should have a go at sober wobbling and tell us all about it
LolaLayla
It's called Power Plate up here. I had a free 10 min session. It is really popular, with folks queuing to use it! I am not convinced that such an easy thing to do would make you lose weight I would like to know if anyone has had successful weight loss using it. The Dogmother
A friend of mine teaches power plate exercise - the theory is to do standard exercises on a wobbling plate, not a CV workout but made me laugh when I tried it as it makes all your wobbly bits wobble I shan't bother trying it again, as exercises go, it didn't really do it for me. Chickvic
I wobble but I haven't tried this although I do have friends that like it! Not sure whether it works or it just amuses them
Cinnamon
I wobble. Don't need a machine to do it,either
Ain't Nobody Here
I've tried it . Can't motivate myself to go to the gym anymore so have to rely on natural wobbling . It was OK but make sure you keep your teeth clenched or you sound like you're in sub-zero temperatures with not much on .
The Dogmother
They were demonstrating it at the CLA Game Fair at Blenheim last weekend; the stand was ringed by young blokes all watching the female instructors' bottoms wobbling.

chickencam
A work colleague of mine does Power Plate, she is in her late 50's and petite, she is really fit and looks great so it must work for her.
Chook n Boo Mum
They were demonstrating it at the CLA Game Fair at Blenheim last weekend; the stand was ringed by young blokes all watching the female instructors' bottoms wobbling. When we went past a comment was heard "could have put a pretty young thing on there"..the lady in question wasn't exactly old either Clare, you don't have any fat to wobble
snowberry
Funny how none of you have mentioned the price of this Is it expensive
Charlottechicken
It's £4 per class, 3 classes for a tenner or a monthly pass (one wobble per day) for £29.50. In other parts of Brum it's £3 per class, I'm not in an expensive area A friend who does it is pretty slim but says it has improved her waistline, as it is supposed to help core muscles. My core muscles need help Haven't been yet
Willow
'as it is supposed to help core muscles' Humm my core muscles are strong from riding & rowing, but there is still a wobbly layer of fat on top so not convinced a power plate would help
The Dogmother
that's 'muscle in repose' Patricia, not fat TBH, you can exercise your core muscles just by correcting your posture when you're walking, it's also gentler if you're not used to exercise. suelp
I have a smaller version at home and I think it's great, even my doubting DH has used it to relieve his aching legs and back after a long day in the garden or lots of heavy lifting, and he agrees it does help. My first one was useless but this new one is really quite powerful, bought on ebay (not up to the Power Plate standard, but they cost something like £5000). I don't use it enough to help lose weight, they reckon you would need to do 2 x 10mins sessions 3 times a week or more. The best way to use these is by doing such as squats with weights, sit ups and press ups. My daughters friend is a P.T. and uses one of these all the time at her gym (she is a demonstrator for Power Plates). She has a lovely figure, but then so she should with her job. Valkyrie
I thought of Rolf Harris and his wobble board thingy! And yes I too wobble where I don't want to wobble - without the aid of machines. Anyone remember the machines that had a strap and people (ladies) used to lean back on it and wobble away?
Alis girls
Assumed you meant er wobbly bits - i am sure I do just never looked
AnnieP
Anyone remember the machines that had a strap and people (ladies) used to lean back on it and wobble away? Yes, me meee, I do! Always looked very torturous. I saw these wobble jobbies at Grand designs last year, and yes, lots of men hanging around watching the demonstrations.. I would be afraid to get on one. I might cause a Tsunami if I started wobbling. (or fall off it trying to do something beyond my appalling co-ordination and balance skill level). I suppose you could just try it out for a month and see.
