snowberry
I don't mind dark mornings, but can't stand the dark earlier evenings, so it's a Yippee from me

Seagazer
Woo hoo! Although I'm not sure why I'm that excited as with the lighter evenings means more training for YS, so back to evenings out at the lake again. Its been quite nice staying in for most of the week. But I do love it when it gets lighter.
craftyhunnypie
Yay! Days at the beach will soon be here again. It's so dark here that I've not even let the chooks out yet & they've not even complained! No crowing, nothing. Emma.x
The Dogmother
Yes, I thought that this morning and it cheered me up no end on what must be the darkest morning so far.
Purplemaniacs
That is a very cheering thought This year the mornings seem to be darker than other years, must be me perhaps its my age Chrissie
Olly
Yay - I always feel things are getting better after the 21st December. Although in the interests of strict truth, I have to point out that actually the mornings get slightly darker for the next few days - the day is longer, but sunrise doesn't start to get earlier until about the first week in January. patsylabrador
I'm a dark skies loving person. Perhaps I should move to Alaska or Scandinavia - that would cure me I'm sure.
ali-s
I'm a dark skies loving person. Perhaps I should move to Alaska or Scandinavia - that would cure me I'm sure. No need to travel so far, come and be my neighbour. It was nearly 9am before it got light this morning and the light was fading just after 2.30pm. The girls got their evening corn at 1.30pm. I am more than ready to finish with this twilight zone and can't wait for the longer days. I find the days get longer rapidly after the burning of the clavie on the 11th January. This Pictish ritual is kept alive in a nearby coastal village and the date marks the day of the Pictish new year. So roll on the 12th January
Cinnamon
I too like the early nights,as it is for such a short spell. I like the feeling of being enclosed & cosy all tucked up in my house. I am not so keen on going to work in the dark & finishing in the dark,on my evening shifts though
Lavenders_Blue
Yippee to the days drawing out, but boo to the mornings getting darker for the next few days. I don't like dog walking in the dark in the mornings and will be happy when I can be up and about in the light.
sparkysmum
I'm with Ali-s. I simply hate long nights & short days. Would unravel completely if it went on much longer. Looking forward to long dog walks & back to running. Can't wait, can't come soon enough. Alli x
The Dogmother
Being of Mediterranean origins, I prefer the warmth and sunlight of the summer months. Long evening walk with the dogs across the fields.....
Chicken shack
I like the lighter evenings and longer days the and keep cleaner longer But I am worried Harvey will start crowing early. I can't remember the last time I heard him crow. Not that I mind but I don't want to upset my lovely neighbours.
Sam
I like it when it gets dark earlier, means I get more homework done! If it's light outside I put it off until it's dark.... hence why in the winter I feel more motivated! Weird I know hehe

She was born on the 25th November, three years ago. Alis girls
My OH is like you Clare - med origins and hates the British winters despite being born and bred here. Hes a summer bod - as I get older I prefer summer and my joints ache less in the warmth - sound of creaking
