Treasure your children

Recommended Posts

Oh how awful - Reminder to all parents also please strap your youngsters in - I see kids jumping about in cars and............ It makes my blood boil and our children are our biggest asset. They take over from us to keep the world safe and especially when you hear of things like youngsters dying in other ways - sowhy do they take risks in ways which can be avoided?.

My sympathies are with you and your colleagues for what you face tomorrow.

My sympathies go to you, the child's family, and all his/her friends...

A family in our neighbourhood lost a 9 year old child a few years back, it shook the whole neighbourhood, people with and without children, whether they knew the child who died or not... any such tragedy, or health scare, really reminds me how each day with my daughters is a wonderful day to be treasured...

Really sorry to hear such sad news... :(

How terribly terribly sad, those poor parents and family. It's so frightening when something like that happens, makes you want to wrap yours up in cotton wool and never let them go. i hope tomorrow isn't too awful although I suspect it's going to dreadfully hard to bear. I'll be thinking of you.

What awful news. My thoughts are with everyone that knew both this child and those girls on their gap year that died in the crash. I lost my brother 3 years ago and since tthen I have had much more of an appreciation of what it is like to lose someone you love, especially when they are young and the death is sudden.

Terrible news, not easy to deal with especially when youngsters are involved :(

My brother died when I was 8 and he was 5 and it has had a big influence over my life.

When I was 16 one of the boys at my school died of meningitis over the summer holidays and it made us all a bit more aware of our own mortality.

Thinking of all involved.

Thank you for all your lovely messages.

Work was horrible as to be expected. He was a pupil that needed constant supervision and was always collected by us and taken to lessons from the reception, so walking into there and not seeing his cheeky grin, and "Oh no not you" was really hard

I can't begin to imagine what his family are going through, but they are really close and will all support each other.

The whole school has been rocked by this :(

It is very sad and even though I don't know anyone involved I have tears in my eyes.

A little girl in my daughter's class lost her mum a few weeks ago. She is now back at school but I get very emotional each time I see her and her dad and even when I just think about it.

That's very sad Karen, it'll take time to adjust.

Rosie's school has had a couple of tragedies recently - last year, one of the dads, who had suffered from depression commited suicide, just before the easter break, one of Rosie's friends lost her little brother when he drowned in the canal near the narrow boat that they lived on.

Like you say, it makes you hug your little (or not so little) ones that much closer.
