ClaireG
We've had about 8" of snow overnight. Its just started snowing again as well. Hubby has managed to get out to go to London but i think he might have to cut his day short, if the snow keeps up i don't know if he'll be able to get back in again! Redwing
Happy Birthday Egluntine!!! Yes Happy Birthday did you get anything nice? Lots of snow here and there is no chance of getting out of my drive much less getting out of the village! I took the day off rather than working from home as the internet was down - its obviously ok now but I have made the call to work now and am officially on holiday so am free to play in the snow We have got the ski clothes out of the 'holiday suitcase'
The Dogmother
It's snowing heavily again here now! Phil went to visit his folks on the farm yesterday and is now stuck there as they live in the middle of nowhere on top of a hill!

Seagazer
Its been raining here on and off all morning so its finally melting some of the snow but the ground is so slippery. Still have about 2 inches of snow in the garden.
Valkyrie
It snowed again last night when DS went out for his short walk with a cigarette (not in my house Sonny Jim), but he said it wasn't too bad. I suppose we had about another inch. It has been melting ever since I got up and then we have had quite a lot of rain so it is very slushy. Main roads clear, went shopping with mum, saw lots of evidence of nasty accidents - broken metal rails at the edge of a drop for example and wonky traffic lights. Our road isn't very nice - slippery slide downhill where it hasn't been gritted. But the snow still hasn't gone and we probably have about 3-4 inches still on the lawns. Seagazer
We have lots of thick drizzly rain - it almost looks foggy. Such a help getting the snow melted though.
sandyhas3chucks
Snow still sitting, roads clear ish. sort of soft rain! Just drove to the valley that DR Dolittle doth bode! Thought I had been airlifted som other counrty. SNOW LESS!!!! Meant to be going to Weston Super Mare Tom. who knows!
Tiggy
still snowing here, just heard our local council has run out of grit - should be fun drivig home
Old Speckled Hen
Gorgeous day here. It's very spring-like. Lots of birdsong and our resident sparrow (roosts in our web-cammed nestbox) has been singing his heart out to entice a mate into his straw-lined palace. Snow? What snow? Chook n Boo Mum
Got into car a while ago, & the thermometer registered 10C! It's been raining at home, but clear-ish now and foggy over Fareham way, where I had to go for an errand for work. How bizarre is this weather?! chickencam
We still have snow where it has been undisturbed, but where people have been walking it is very mucky and slushy. If it freezes tonight it will be awful tomorrow and if it freezes and then we get more snow I dread to think what it will be like
The Dogmother
Same here Liz, I think that the slush is more dangerous than the snow too. I'm hoping that we won't get more tonight as I have a journey north tomorrow afternoon.
Seagazer
It stopped drizzling and was quite cold this afternoon. Took ages to walk home in the slush. Keeping my fingers crossed its just going to be rain tonight.
Helly Welly
I had to collect DD from school this afternoon as OH was on a conference call. We had 3 inches of snow todayand i had to go on my mobility scooter! It was fun actually, i was skidding all over the place, on purpose!! And DD's class was half empty today, people who lived closer than us didn't turn up at school. It just goes to show how reliant on cars people are, they should have walked. If i can make it on a mobility scooter, i don't see why others can't make the effort.
The Dogmother
I know what you mean Helen - Rosie's school was closed again, despite most of the teachers and children living within walking distance The majority of them seem to drive, despite there being no parking other than for staff. I can walk to work - only 5 mins away, my boss drove in, he lives 40 miles away and it took him 2 hours, then he had trouble getting into the driveway so had to park in next door's car park. Two girls at a friend's office rang in saying that they couldn't get to work because they were 'snowed in' despite living only 10 mins away - the boss went and picked them up... bet they had to get out of their PJs double quick!! Cate in NZ
Cor, we've even had UK weather reports about the UK weather on our news over here, accompanied by some spooky looking photos of Parliament Square in the snow . Thinking of you all over there, hope you've enjoyed your unsceduled extra days off school (& that the parents haven't had to struggle too much to sort out the childcare). Wrap up warm & stay safe, especially out on those icy roads. Over here we're having a great summer, 28oC yesterday, and we spent Wednesday on the beach, absolutely glorious. Feb over here sort of = August in the UK, so it's hot, hot, hot
Patricia W
well, we were forecast losts more snow here south of Oxford but when I let the dog out 5 minutes ago, we have rain. As there is snow and ice down already, it will be lethal in the rush hour. Take care, everyone.
ClaireG
We've had another 2-3 " overnight. It's still snowing on and off.
Olly
only a light powdery dusting here, and I don't think it fell below freezing last night (haven't checked the chook's water yet, I didn't bring it in last night). More forecast later though, might wear my walking boots to work again in case getting home is difficult!
Valkyrie
After some heavy-ish rain yesterday the snow is still everywhere and we had another half inch to an inch last night - my car is covered again. Rain again this morning, all slushy on the paths - now totally fed up with slipping over when I sort out the birdies.
Groovychook
It's back- with a vengeance! It's much deeper than last time, must be about 4 inches and there's a fair old blizzard going on out there. Had a rubbish nights sleep, thunder & lightening mixed in with the snow ... I'm so surprised it's settled because the ground was so wet yesterday. I've just made a mess of the lovely clean white stuff, trudging up to the in my muddy wellies! Old Speckled Hen
Devon snow has been on the news. A foot it says!!!! I hope everybody is remembering the garden birds in this weather. Mine tuck into the chooks mash. I make a load up just for them. MUCH cheaper than bird seed. Sunshine here. No snow, except what's left in the garden from last time. chelsea
Devon snow has been on the news. A foot it says!!!!. Apparently we have had all what London & the south east were supposed to have. It must be very localised though as down in Plymouth its raining, I am in Mid-Devon and we've had loads. The M5 is closed. So glad its my day off.
