The Dogmother
Snowing like mad here now and MD has just told everyone who drives to go home, looks like I'm here on my own then....
chickencam
It took my 2 older children 2 hours to come 9 miles on a coach and my OH came out of his office car park which is on a one way street and it took him an hour to get onto the road so he went round the block back to the car park and started to walk still not home, they closed the office at 2pm
poachedegg
Still snowing here and the childrens schools are closed again tomorrow - I don't remember that ever happening and ES is 18.
Ain't Nobody Here
We've not had any more snow since yesterday evening but more is forecast. I'm hoping for a school closure . Our kids are bussed in from all over so fingers crossed!
Christian
Finally. WE HAVE SNOW!!! It only fell for 25 minutes, but enough to cover the ground and look nice. 40cm forecast for this evening. Have done a food shop, logs by the back door, camping stove for when the electricity goes (more than likely in our village ) and ready and waiting! You got snow Koojie? chelsea
Glad to hear you're prepared - I think you are going to get shed loads tonight Christian... Quite worried here as OH has to go to work in Devizes tonight (which is miles from home) and work all night.
Lewis
Snow afternoon They sent us home at lunch and some school are already shut tomorrow ... they said ours will just do what the council say. Last Feb the council shut the schools and were slated by everyone for doing it saying the roads were ok ... err maybe because there was no school traffic on the roads We'll see
Patricia W
Finally started here in Abingdon about 40 mins ago. Very fine stuff but already the ground is covered. All chooks in and hatches battened down! Wonder what tonight and tomorrow will bring? I was supposed to be going to Birmingham but methinks not..... ali-s
Only did 3 hours at work today and then we decided it would be best to go home. We have had horizontal snow showers all day although it doesn't seem to have settled. The wind is evil and really cuts through you. Andy is on his way home as they have closed his factory. Hardly any staff made it in this morning as a lot of roads are blocked inland. My little Fiat Panda did me proud this morning and coped very well on the icy, snowy back roads. I am going to buy a spare set of wheels and some winter tyres ready for next winter or maybe sooner, I need to look into the cost. I have felt nervous driving in this icy weather and winter tyres might boost my confidence a little.
The Dogmother
Snowing like mad here for the last hour, Rosie left school at the normal time with a reminder to check the local radio station in the morning. We currently have about 2" of snow. The MD has just sent all drivers home, so just three of us in now.
Lesley
We have all of an inch of snow! - it followed us to you Clare. Edgehill and Sunrising Hill were a bit interesting on the way back!

Valkyrie
It started at 5-ish. I was outside putting extra plastic around the girls runs, felt a bit of wet on my face, looked at the top of the cube run and there it was - lot's of little icy flaklets. Just as well I'd finished. Darned shame really, the sun came out and started to melt the frost and snow spatter from the other day. Not big flakes that I can see yet - I like watching it and it's all dark. So after shopping this morning, cleaning the girls out, visiting the garden centre for mealworms, delivering more eggs to mum, I came in this evening and said OK bring it on!!!! Mum said my brother called at 3 and said it had started there too - Warminster, Wilts.

Cooks
I keep waiting for the snow but nothing as of yet. Not that it affects me in any way but the kids are really wanting another day off school... like they haven't just had a break or something?? I dont hold out much hope though, I like we will miss it tonight.

Cinnamon
..............aaaaaaaaaaaand its here now too Very very fine, almost gritty powdery stuff, but steady & a lot forecast for tonight. Got to pick the eldest up from Henley at 7.30,so I hope it doesn't get too nasty before then My little Fiat Panda did me proud this morning and coped very well on the icy, snowy back roads. I am going to buy a spare set of wheels and some winter tyres ready for next winter or maybe sooner, I need to look into the cost. I have felt nervous driving in this icy weather and winter tyres might boost my confidence a little. Marge the Panda is doing brilliantly in the snow too Ali, & we are looking into some snow chains for for her too - they are reasonable on eBay I believe. xScrunchee
Still no snow here Couldn't say it on the thread about who has NOT got snow as it has been locked due to it turning into a who HAS got snow thread. If a few people mention on this thread that they HAVEN'T got snow-maybe it will also be locked for turning into a 'Who has NOT got snow' thread!!! Hee hee
