A lovely evening ruined.....

Recommended Posts

Went out last night to a restaurant, with Him indoors and a group of friends.

Had a lovely time, the meal and the company were superb.

When we left, we found that his car had been vandalised. Passenger and real window smashed to smithereens. :?

Nothing stolen. Nothing worth stealing in the car in fact. Just an umbrella and a map book, which, of course, weren't taken.

Now we have to waste a day sorting things out.

Grrr.

How mindless of the yob that did it. Grr! These people really do annoy me. They just don't think of anyone else. We've had it happen when our DD took the car to uni one time. That was fun trying to sort it out from a distance and she was due to go to Cornwall from Nottingham that day.

Sorry it ruined your evening and I hope you can get it sorted out quickly.

Really sorry to hear about that. I just don't get the mindset of people who can do things like this.

OH and I were playing golf last weekend and a friend told us that when they had gone to get their ball out of one of the holes some little darling had defecated in there! I just don't get where the pleasure is in that either!

Hope it doesn't take too long to sort out. Make sure that the glass people sweep up all the fragments. I am still finding bits in my car from when someone smashed the glass and took OHs sports kit last August!

What is wrong with some people? I just don't understand what goes through these yobs minds to think that smashing some car windows is fun!!! Hope there is some CCTV footage to help catch them. Were other cars damaged at the same time? Hope it gets sorted quicky and smoothly for you.

Cheers everyone. :D

No CCTV ... I went for a scout round this morning.

We've got a crime number but realistically, the police can't waste energy and resources on something as trivial as this.

The car can't be fettled until tomorrow afternoon/evening, which is a tad inconvenient, but in the grand scale of things, it is a mere hiccup.

I'm a great believer in Karma, so know the perp will get his comeuppance one day. I'd like to think he hurt himself on the broken glass.

Oh but they should. Stopping crime at this level would surely make them think twice about progressing on to other things. Reporting it is important though as it goes on the police stats  .

In July last year one person caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to parked cars in my road, by breaking windows and ripping off wing mirrors as he walked along the road, drunk, at around 2am. Two residents phoned police only to be told as it was Friday, all available officers were on Broad Street (entertainment centre of Birmingham). Pity they never caught him as the insurance companies would've had a field day with him, the hole in his wallet would have made him think twice about doing it again.

A couple of weeks ago my son was beaten about the head by 3 other lads (5 in the gang altogether) while he was with his girlfriend and then they were both doused with beer. They called the police - 20 minutes later they turn up and at that point the gang jump on a train - not interested call British Rail Police. Called BR Police who seemed very interested what with CCTV on the trains and on site. Plus as Ciaran recognised one of them they also had a name. Then last week Ciaran lost his phone on the train - he was on the last stop before it got to the depot so "Ooops, word censored!"ody else was supposed to be on the train and therefore it should have been handed into the office by the staff. So story is that the assault case has been closed but they are eager to find the "thief" who "stole" his phone because it must be staff. Obviously the boy is gutted by the response and feels justice has not been carried out.

Plus it wasn't that late at night and one day some poor so and so will hop off the train and be seriously injured. But hey ho - who would want to tackle those thugs. Let time pass and it'll all blow over and the victims will give up.

As for a result with car crime - I wouldn't hold my breath. Galls me to say that, it really does. This is when Bah Humbug is not the word I would really like to use.:evil::evil::evil::evil::evil:
