Snow

Recommended Posts

It took my 2 older children 2 hours to come 9 miles on a coach and my OH came out of his office car park which is on a one way street and it took him an hour to get onto the road so he went round the block back to the car park and started to walk  still not home, they closed the office at 2pm

Finally. WE HAVE SNOW!!! :D:D

It only fell for 25 minutes, but enough to cover the ground and look nice. 40cm forecast for this evening.:shock:

Have done a food shop, logs by the back door, camping stove for when the electricity goes (more than likely in our village  ) and ready and waiting! :D:D

You got snow Koojie?

Snow afternoon

They sent us home at lunch and some school are already shut tomorrow ... they said ours will just do what the council say.

Last Feb the council shut the schools and were slated by everyone for doing it saying the roads were ok ... err maybe because there was no school traffic on the roads

We'll see :D:lol:

Only did 3 hours at work today and then we decided it would be best to go home. We have had horizontal snow showers all day although it doesn't seem to have settled. The wind is evil and really cuts through you.

Andy is on his way home as they have closed his factory. Hardly any staff made it in this morning as a lot of roads are blocked inland.

My little Fiat Panda did me proud this morning and coped very well on the icy, snowy back roads. I am going to buy a spare set of wheels and some winter tyres ready for next winter or maybe sooner, I need to look into the cost. I have felt nervous driving in this icy weather and winter tyres might boost my confidence a little.

It started at 5-ish. I was outside putting extra plastic around the girls runs, felt a bit of wet on my face, looked at the top of the cube run and there it was - lot's of little icy flaklets. Just as well I'd finished. Darned shame really, the sun came out and started to melt the frost and snow spatter from the other day. Not big flakes that I can see yet - I like watching it and it's all dark. So after shopping this morning, cleaning the girls out, visiting the garden centre for mealworms, delivering more eggs to mum, I came in this evening and said OK bring it on!!!!

Mum said my brother called at 3 and said it had started there too - Warminster, Wilts.

I keep waiting for the snow but nothing as of yet. Not that it affects me in any way but the kids are really wanting another day off school... like they haven't just had a break or something??

I dont hold out much hope though, I like we will miss it tonight.

Marge the Panda is doing brilliantly in the snow too Ali, & we are looking into some snow chains for for her too - they are reasonable on eBay I believe.

Still no snow here

Couldn't say it on the thread about who has NOT got snow as it has been locked due to it turning into a who HAS got snow thread.

If a few people mention on this thread that they HAVEN'T got snow-maybe it will also be locked for turning into a 'Who has NOT got snow' thread!!! Hee hee :lol:
