Snow

Recommended Posts

Phillip started crowing about an hour ago - which he has NEVER done before! I went out to check he was OK and realised he's probably been woken by the reflected light from the snow and the sound of dozens of local children enjoying the snow!

It's still snowing here and already about 4/5 inches. I think I'll be working from home tomorrow.....

Thanks Wild Mum starts biting nails

Sorry  has he rung yet

Have just come back indoors having done traffic control at the end of the drive, somebody missed the corner/skidding on the thick layer of slush on the road & bumped head on with a van in the opposite direction on an unlit 90deg corner, no nasty injuries thankfully but one driver was Polish with no English  .the police officer was very patient :anxious:

It was amazing how many people were driving too fast for the conditions, don't people think when they get behind the wheel :wall::wall::wall: Several were treated to a very basic form of the Queen's English when they hadn't slowed down to pass the accident even with a police car with it's blue lights and my rather pathetic traffic control methods in action

I hope everybody stays warm & safe this evening...I'm sure your part of Wiltshire will get some Annie, if we did, everyone else will :lol:

We had a bit of snow for a few hours tonight but the roads are all but completely clear. However, the Swindon bus drivers wont run the school bus service tomorrow so the school has had to close :? Also, went out to do my weekly shop to find the shelves bare in Lidl and Sainsburys :? It had better snow big time tonight otherwise it will be ridiculous - no buses, no school and no food for nothing.

Love those santas. 8)

Called Ciaran - he forgot  but he arrived safely and sounds as though it's pretty much the same as here. Erin just measured and we also have 6 inches - and still going strong. She took a pic of the house from across the street - although the depth is not apparent and slightly blurry

If you have a helicopter Christian! Feel free to drop in. It's the hills that are the worst - but the A30 should be up and running if as they say, the gritters are working around the clock. There is a depot near the motorway, but they don't do our side roads and we're on a hill. You can see my neighbour's house on the right is below our level and the house on the other side is a little higher. There's a huge drop at the end of the road. Should be interesting listening to cars skidding into the roundabout tomorrow morning. They always do - someone knocked the bollard over recently and you could see the tyre tracks - oochie!
