Alis girls
Spent afternoon in casualty with severe abdominal pain. Thought labour was tough but this was awful. All tests inconclusive but they think I might have passed a kidney stone. Felt like I was laying an egg through my ureter. I was there for 8 hours. I can't get over how good the young doctor was. Two weeks ago I tripped at work and fell on right side. Thought I'd busted a rib. X-rays do not show fracture by could be low down.
Daphne
OMG Where are you now? My friend has gallstones and I know at second hand it's bad, but really I can't imagine, poor you. I hope you are being given sufficient pain relief and that your family are around. I am sending you comfortable vibes and I hope you are back to 100% soon
mullethunter
I feel for you Ali's Girls. OH has recently had kidney stones and the GP told him it's the only pain men can experience that is similar to childbirth. Hope you're feeling better. The Dogmother
Me too Ali - I have what's called 'kidney sludge', which plays up every now and then. Hope that you are better soon, and get to the bottom of it.
Luvachicken
I had a urine infection a couple of months ago and that was painful enough so I feel for you with your pain. I hope you're feeling better really soon.
Alis girls
Thanks girlies odd twinge nothing awful. I still think it might be gall stones. We had a saying in nursing years ago " fair fat fertile n forty" made you more likely to get them. I'm the first two. Now have a stinking cold. Snotty coughing and asthma playing up. Was sent out of sitting room for ruining TV programme as coughing and blowing nose too loud they couldn't hear telly. OH wants me to take day off tomorrow sick, but have taken rest of week off to go up to dad's to do more clearing. Bit fed up as the only good thing about dad's passing is being back in touch with his brothers lovely daughters. We are due to see them Sunday so hope will be better. Sil-El
You're really going through the mill at the moment aren't you. So sorry to hear you have been so poorly and I hope the cold clears up soon. Clearing out a house like that can be really tough emotionally, my husband had to clear his parents house a few years ago and he found it very difficult as there were so many memories. We did find some funny things to help lighten the mood though - a book entitled "better sex for men" and 3 copies of the Kama Sutra - both of which put thoughts into our head that we really didn't want there! Please make sure you look after yourself and get plenty of rest and also allow yourself to wallow when you need to as well, it's been a rotten year for you and it will take time to get back on an even keel. Take care.
soapdragon
I have just been listing some stuff on local Gumtree; there is a main 'front' page which appears when you log in and which has an assortment of ads currently 'live'. I noticed one for 5m of black rope - complete with picture of said rope all neatly coiled - under the category 'bedroom furniture' By the by......If anyone wants a bigger than lifesize cardboard cutout of Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow there just happens to be one in my garage. Free to a good home - can't bear to put him in the recycling
Grandmashazzie
I too have been clearing out and am amazed at what people buy. I did two car boot sales to get rid of kids clothes and toys. Lovely winter parkas two unworn all at £5 each no interest, various Halloween outfits £2 no interest, educational games some new and wooden bricks no interest. Bright plastic with batteries snapped up.

Alis girls
Hello and thanks for good wishes. Dad's house was cleared today. Sadly a lot of the furniture probably will be s"Ooops, word censored!"ped. The piano broke my heart the most can't get rid of them. But for the first time in ages didn't spend time on phone to various agencies sorting stuff out. Waiting for deeds to be put in my name then will put house on market. Felt sad as the house felt unloved and needs a good clean. Health wise got antibiotics now - still sound like a docker on 50 fags a day

Alis girls
Teenagers - they never seek to amaze. My 16 year old is growing fast - troubled lad at times with the OCD and anxiety but maturing fast. Years ago I posted on here about his problems at primary school with a teacher who frankly didnt like lads and would call to complain about him (she did this to other mums too about their kids) . So now hes in lower 6th I was somewhat surprised when his Spanish teacher called after school one day. I was tired after work and not all that well and was somewhat taken aback and deeply ashamed when she proceeded to tell me how well he was doing in A level Spanish. I was for once stunned into silence - the woman must have thought me the most un forthcoming mother she had ever had the misfortune to speak too. I managed to mutter thank you and thats really kind of you to call. I told YS how proud I was blah blah blah . He said "bet you thought i had been naughty" Anyway today he comes in from school whooping and being daft and poor OH was on the phone to Sainsburys and had to apologise to the woman who laughed - prob had one at home like mine Hes into some Rapper called Biggie Small (no me neither) big black chap who was shot sometime back in the 90's I think - sadly dead. To reward his good behaviour i got him a sweat shirt of Biggie on Ebay - to say he was delighted would be an understatement. Hes lovely - still moody but maturing a lot. love him to bits. Lewis
I'm just back from eight days in the Czech Republic. The first half was spent at in International Falconry Meet where there were 67 Golden Eagles in attendance as well as a whole load more falcons and hawks. It was great to catch up with people we've met previously and make new contacts. After that I went to a private falconry meet with 4 Dutch and Belgian guys who invited me and a friend along to hunt with them and their birds. It was an amazing experience to be able to get out and hunt with them. I didn't get to fly an eagle myself but got to handle them lots while helping others out and I learnt so much. (They've hinted that they may bring one along for me next year! )

Alis girls
Haven't been here much but do read posts daily. OH and I had a weekend away leaving animals in care of boys. Sadly one of our kitties is dying of kidney disease. We've had him 11 years he's a ginger and white Tom with an endearing nature. He has to introduce himself to anyone who comes to house. He's on medication and has to be hydrated daily which I hate doing as he's so thin. We have discussed with vet and he thinks it's ok to keep going for now. I don't think he will see Christmas. Anyway he seems to panic when we go away. He kept spitting medication out and ate very little. We are giving him anything he fancies to eat just to make his last days as nice as poss. We stayed in a spa hotel in Oxford and had a lovely 2 days. Christmas is looming this year will be second without my dad. Last year he was in hospital. We are getting together with my friend husband kids and elderly aunt. I offered to fetch my aunt to come and stay with us. But she's made various excuses not to come. She will go to friends. I said I couldn't cope with another Christmas in the Midlands. My uncle died in 2015 boxing day , last year dad was in hospital. My family is shrinking rapidly. Probably I am being selfish but mentally can't cope with it all. I do feel a lot better and have stuff to look forward too. For years I fitted in with others now I have decided can't hack it any more. Anyway thanks for reading if you haven't dropped off
Alis girls
Meant to say YS looked after the three hens and announced they were very good and liked him. I now know why he'd given them meal worms meant to last ten days and a lot of greens. They are his number one fans.
