Groovychook
Baking hot again today. The garden is starting to look a bit crispy. It's ages since we had a drop of rain. Hope the showery spell due in the forecast lasts long enough to give everything a good watering and then more sunshine please!
mullethunter
Heavy rain tonight and tomorrow - as expected for the middle of Royal Cornwall Show weekend!

The Dogmother
After some stormy tantrums, it has been lovely the last couple of days. Really hot this evening when we walked the dogs.
Groovychook
So true about The Royal Cornwall Mullethunter I predict bad weather around July 28th too- the Launceston Show is normally a washout! Â We've had our first rain for such a long time overnight. Still drizzling now and feels much fresher. High white cloud and looks set for the day. No complaints here though, the garden is so dry. mullethunter
Well - we had heavy rain forecast from the middle of the night last night to the middle of the night tonight. So far, where I am, we haven't had enough to top up the bird bath let alone fill the water butts!
Groovychook
We've had a fair bit here. Mainly fine rain yesterday but with the odd, distant clap of thunder. It's pouring down at the moment but the cloud cover is fairly bright and high. I can spy a bit of blue too.
mullethunter
I've been working down west and it's been more wall to wall sunshine and 21 degrees. Â Rained enough at home to almost top up one water butt. Chickens seem to have gone off wet vegetation and don't want to come out of their run! Groovychook
We had a very wet day yesterday and it's still raining now. Everything has had a good watering and the butts are full, so will be glad of a few dry days.
The Dogmother
I am away with my dad in Greece, on our annual holiday together, it is 30+deg here, very still and humid.... Too hot, even for me! I hear that it has been cool and damp at home though, with today being fairly sunny.

soapdragon
I WANT SUMMER - stamps foot and throws a paddy A few weeks ago I sorted out all the winter clothes and put them away and brought the summer ones out.....still unworn. Have not had a single day yet where I feel I could wear a summer dress........drizzly here in south Oxfordshire again today and, although reasonable temps are forecast for the coming week, its also going to be overcast. I am NOT real heat fan but it would be nice to have some warm sunshine......all that panic about global warming is beginning to sound like a load of old hogswash! Â Â Â Â Â Have just re read the first para and it sounds as though I'm not wearing anything at all .....NOT the case Jumpers and Cardis R Us! Daphne
28 degrees......at midnight  Our local small town appears to be the 2nd hottest place in Portugal this morning It was 25 at 8am, forecast to get to 39, which is hot, but not the hottest we get. The evenings are bliss, the nights less so
Groovychook
Crikey, not so hot here Daphne All the same, very muggy and hot yesterday. Cloudier in the morning but lots of sun after that. Sunny and hot already this morning
soapdragon
They say be careful what you wish for! Hot, hot hot and in the kitchen baking biscuits for teacher presents tomorrow (well, obviously not RIGHT now as am typing, but waiting for the pinger on the oven to go ready for the next batch!) Â Hotter tomorrow then rain by the end of the week - doh

Charlottechicken
Yep, absolutely roasting here in North Worcs now. Chickens have fled under the Eglu for shade, and washing is crispy dry on the line but there's no wind so just hanging there. My lounge faces west and curtains are shut to keep the temperature down. Groovychook
So hot yesterday and due to be even hotter today! Found myself longing for Chickencam's new air conditioning unit in the middle of the night

Cat tails
I hate heat... Don't cope well with it. It has been around 30 degrees here today and expecting a bit more tomorrow... soapdragon
Hot, hot, hot! 35 on our patio, which isn't in full sun! Boys finished school at 1.00pm and we all came home and stripped off Slightly cooler tomorrow, I gather then back to 10 degrees below today on Thursday. Oh what fun! Valkyrie
Soapdragon it's all your fault I'm wilting!!! Â And oooh the breeze has come back! Honestly the best place is in the car with the air con. Everywhere else is way too sticky! Â Well summer is here big time. It may only last a week but I think one week of this and I'll be looking forward to all mentions of Christmas! Well maybe not quite that bad yet! Poor little tree bees are desperately trying to cool down their nest! Sounds like a huge generator humming away.
