PixieDust Posted January 22, 2016 Share Posted January 22, 2016 I was due to come back to this forum after illness kept me away near the end of last year. Unfortunately, this month has been taken up with my mum being ill, hospitalised and finally passing away yesterday morning. I will be back but obviously have so much to do in such a short time. She had dementia, COPD, heart failure and after getting a urine infection which turned to sepsis and a bout of anemia which required 1 units of blood, they found a mass on her left kidney. Probably cancerous but not sure. I am incredibly sad but strangely calm and content because although she went peacefully, she had had a lot of pain in her last week. It sounds like she was very poorly towards the end and is now no longer in any pain. Remember that although your Mum has been taken, no one can ever take the lifetime of lovely memories that you will have made together.
