Snow

Recommended Posts

We have mega size snowflakes here now. About 2 inches has fallen in about half an hour- I think we are in the belt that is to get 40cms! I think I may be digging the chooks out tomorrow.

Sarah, I hope you get back safely as Henley area seems to be in the same belt of snow.

Big flakes here now. And number one son has decided to travel to see GF in Fareham tonight instead of going tomorrow. He'd better make sure he calls me when he gets there.

Not convinced of his logic Koojie....Fareham/So'ton area sounds a total nightmare on the news just now

It's arrived here in Chichester.....mum rang at 6.45 to see if we needed her to babysit...I said come if you like as she said it was snowing hard with her (4 miles south) & it was raining with us, as we spoke it changed to snow, huge fluffy flakes........by 7.15 we were on the road to go shooting & after about 20 yards on the road realised the error of our ways & returned to send parents back home before it gets even worse  Our tracks in the drive had been covered by the time they left again at 7.35.................spot the one who hasn't had experience in the snow for a long time

DD is over excited, convinced she's at home again tomorrow & DH has just asked what food we have in for the next few days  ....thank goodness we did a snatch & grab shop this afternoon :anxious:

I am back nearly an hour later - it normally takes me 15mins.

One nasty skid which nearly had me in a bush,& we saw several bumps too.

The worst bit was when Marge (my car) was doing fine & I was trying to get some momentum to get up a long hill, when the car in front decided to slow down, meaning we lost purchase on the road & had to stop too

Had to roll back & take another run up :lol:

Honestly, it was nerve wracking, but rather fun too

no snow here except for a light sprinking about an hour ago. We are on north coast above St Ives . but below Newquay. Verry cold though. Spoke to mysister in Torbay earlier this afternoon...no snow there and blue skies.....I'm glad you have posted pics...I would be suspecting a huge media hoax otherwise!!!!:lol:

Arghhhhhhhhh!8.gif

lol

It is really coming down thick and fast now. The main road outside our house has not been treated and looks quite treacherous. There is something hypnotic about watching snow flakes fall though.

I doubt that school will be open tomorrow. There was nothing left in the supermarket today. I think that people have been stocking up big time!

It stopped here for a while, then snowed seriously for half an hour while I walked the dog. Stopped again now and we have about 2".

Spoke to Phil in Radnage, Bucks; they have about the same, but as they live on a high lane, the hill is impassable, his brother has already pitched up wanting a bed for the night after leaving his car at the bottom of the hill when he tried to get home from his workshop on a neighbouring farm.

We're predicted 6-8" I am told, must have been a man who said that... they always lie about inches!

Where is it?

Come on! I am desperate for some snow!

Please send it down here!

Warminster has some - you'll have to run over there.

About 3 inches here and still falling steadily. Pooh pooh and a thousand times pooh!

Thanks Wild Mum starts biting nails

:lol::lol::lol:

They said up to 40cms on the news this afternoon - severe weather warning and the girl was waving the papers just handed to her. I just growled when she mentioned Hampshire. Oh the girls will be soooo pleased when they get up tomorrow. The sound will carry for miles . . .
