Sam Palmer
If I find a £5 in the clean laundry, is it mine to keep? I found a folded up £10 note on the ground whilst putting out the washing one day. I don't know whose pocket it had fallen out of, but it was definitely MINE! chickencam
Was thinking about elephants feet today, not the real thing but those great big cream cakes that you used to get from bakeries. Think they were like overgrown profiteroles/choux buns filled with cream and covered with chocolate. Can you still get them? I used to love them when I was little, bet they don't seem as big now though! I thought that these were invented by my MIL I have never come across them anywhere else, they are seriously yummy I made some for ED's birthday last year and stacked them like profiteroles, they were huge It is her birthday today, so maybe a trip to the kitchen is in order

The Dogmother
I've got two loads on the line now while I am at work, and another in the machine to go out when I get back for lunch.
Reikiranf
I love getting the washing done, even seeing it dancing about on the line makes me smile But the downside is ironing it and putting it away, I'm ashamed to say that my conservatory is quite often a detention camp for clothes, until I get round to the ironing

Sam Palmer
My ironing pile is about two thirds my height . There are things in there I come across on the rare occasions I venture into it, that I've forgotten we have!
chickencam
I am so glad that I am not alone I love ironed clothes but just don't have enough time. My pile was also 2 thirds my height this morning it down to half a basket now , but there is more hidden away in an ottoman that everyone has forgotten about Also I have done loads of washing today so produced a load more

Now that does sound fantastic! We used to get them from a bakery called Copelands (or something along those lines) in my Granny's village near Doncaster. We were only little and our eyes used to pop out ogling all the cakes behind the counter! Mum would never let us have things like that so we always felt a bit naughty and thoroughly spoilt - happy memories!
Chucky Mama
There are young pheasant all over the village and surrounding fields this morning. The local gamekeeper has just released them ready for the slaughter later in the year I hate it, they are so incapable of looking after themselves and are both easy prey for local dogs and foxes and very easy targets for the shoot
The Dogmother
I know, the ones around here are so daft/tame that they walk right up to you. It's driving my dogs berserk as I have to keep them on-lead in some of the usual areas that we walk. what with that and all the squirrels, they are in doggie heaven. Sheilaz
Think I may be the last of an odd generation. Describing a location, I referred to the modern houses. Er, they're 60 years old, they were modern once, but not now!
The Dogmother
I do that too, I remember a housing estate in Norfolk being built on farmland, those houses are now over 30 years old!

They just mill around by the side of the road, waiting until a car comes, then they leap out in front of it (the Pheasants, not the estate guys!) On a different note,I got a couple of the Heston hidden orange Christmas Puddings today
chickencam
When giving directions to our house, I say 'the group of modern houses' they are 25 years old now, but had just been built when we moved to Cheltenham Wish us luck we have 10 teenagers belonging to other people and 3 of our own in the house tonight, for ED's 18th party. I am just taking a toast break before cracking on with the preparations At least the weather is good so they can spend some of the evening outdoors.
