Lewis
Love Beigel Bake! It's just down the road from my favourite taxidermy shop so I often pop in Spent the weekend in London catching up with friends before heading back to Uni tonight. I've had 5 weeks off for Christmas which is great as I've only had a couple weeks for the last few years and I only had a couple weeks at home over summer! mullethunter
Just went out to see if the pond was full of frogs again (it wasn't - only 2 tonight - 11 two nights ago!) to find the girls all crammed into the perch outside the Cube! I shut the door when I clean it out, to stop them escaping, and I forgot to open it again! Poor chooks The pekins went straight in when I opened to door and put a torch in the nest box but I had to shove the others in! Feeling like a right meanie now

Alis girls
Have fun and dont break a leg (or anything else!!) Now for the Thursday moan - yes I feel I have to vent my wrath. Trying to set up DD for elderly fathers gas bills. I sent off form I downloaded and heard nothing - now concerned lost in post. Rang said company - its adverts show happy smiling people and happy smiling pets. This lady aint happy or smiling and am conscious of blood pressure rising. 1 couldnt understand the person I spoke to -I dont think she spoke English and the supervisor was no better 2 they sounded like they were in a hen house so much noise - apologies to any hens reading this 3 had no idea how to help me So short of I have sent strong email saying will take dads custom elsewhere and will wait and see what happens. Now having a calming cappucino and writing this on my favourite website. Apologies for rant. and breathe.
chickencam
I truly hope that it wasn't British Gas. We had an awful couple of years with them at work!
Alis girls
No response yet. Yesterday we went to the theatre to see Motown. Very good - actors, singers brilliant. We had booked 3 seats - one on aisle and 2 next to it for myself, OH and YS 15. There were 2 couples next to us and it was clear one of the women was unwell. I was about to offer her the aisle seat when her OH asked if we could swap. We were fine about it. It did mean as the seats were close and not much leg room that we had to nurse our coats - it was hot etc but didnt spoil our show. The other couple and husband were veyr nice but in the interval I overheard the other woman ask if it was the food on the train which had upset her ( I think she;d been sick) I heard the husband say no she'd drank too much. It was at this point I lost all sympathy for her - not only had she spoilt their trip, never said thanks she was a total misery and I felt sorry for the husband. They were our age 50 something and I feel at that age you should know how much you can drink. I told OH I wont give up my seat again in a hurry. Hope she has a bad head this morning. chickencam
Time for a blanket and a good book then. Hope you feel better soon.
Daphne
Thank you I am on the bed with an extra pillow, under the duvet, listening to the radio. OH has gone to get more gauze, and salt. I am a real wimp as far as teeth are concerned, but OH is taking it very seriously There is more blood than I anticipated and I feel rather cold. coincidentally my elderly Mum had the same thing done 2 weeks ago whilst on holiday, and I am sure she was braver and less wimpy than me, which is sobering
Alis girls
Hi hope you are feeling better Daphne. Hate toothache. hugs Ali
Daphne
Thank you It became infected which meant I have been feeling quite ropy since Thurs, not to mention looking like I'd been in the ring with Mike Tyson, swollen cheek and neck is so not a good look on a middle aged woman On antibiotics now and I think they are kicking in, as I feel more sprightly, which is just as well as I am travelling for work from tomorrow. The antibiotic is the same one they give chickens in Australia apparently
Alis girls
What a coincidence not sure if I would feel relieved or not with that
redhotchick
I gave up caffeine over a year ago. I woke up very early one day and decided to not have any. Then I read up about caffeine, and decided to give it up completely. I have gone from chain drinking strong black instant coffee and terrible mood swings, to herbal tea and much more even tempered and resilient. I haven't missed it at all, but this week I have been tempted to try a cup. I'm afraid it will be a slippery slope, and I'm not tempted that much! chickencam
I admire you for that I have given up carbohydrates and sugar largely but do treat myself to the odd slice of relatively low carbohydrate bread with a poached egg for breakfast. I would struggle to do without my morning tea and elevenses coffee. To be fair I only usually have one further Tea after lunch and then it is herbal tea for me too. I am quite sensitive to caffeine. Grandmashazzie
What herbal teas are your fav. I struggle to find any nice ones. My fav is local tea company Suki teas which do apple loves mint but other than that I am not fussed on most I've tried.
The Dogmother
We like Pukka teas - I'm not keen on fruity ones
redhotchick
Grandmashazzie I love Redbush tea. It is my absolute staple. sometimes I have redbush and vanilla. Pear and caramel is delicious, apart from those I occasionally have raspberry tea (raspberry +pomegranate or similar). The Dogmother, I tried the liquorice and spearmint pukka tea. not a fan, i found it quite sweet. what Pukka tea flavours do you like? I don't like lemon and ginger tea, I like rhubarb, I think Pukka do one? do you like it?
Grandmashazzie
Yes DM the fruit ones always fail to deliver. Red hot chick pear and caramel sound delicious I will try that.
mullethunter
I love the smell of fruit ones but not the taste (same for coffee and melon!). I drink quite a lot of peppermint though since deciding about a year ago I probably drink too much caffeine.
The Dogmother
I find that fruit teas smell of jelly, but don't like the taste. We have 3 mint, Relax, Love, Sleep and a few others
Alis girls
Sorry to moan but found cat puke on my bed today then not being the best housekeeper in the UK on investigating under our bed several lots of cat vomit. Spent the morning steaming hoovering and hurumping. I love my cats but not sure if I can cope with this long-term. One of them is let's say mentally challenged. Even if litter tray is clean she will Pooh on doormat. I know this is part of being a cat owner and I should woman up. Deal with human blood urine every day at work. Had a good moan to OH who tends to clean up the Pooh as me heaving everywhere doesn't instil confidence. I am of the opinion there's more to life than housework. I am a slattern. Alis girls
Not sure why pooh has a capital letter. It's not Winnie the Pooh
