Griffin
Plenty of Aubiose at White Horse Animal Feeds in Childrey this morning. They say they did have trouble getting it in but that's all sorted now and they don't expect any further delays with it.
Ain't Nobody Here
Just been looking at the Easibed site to see if it's from "abroad" (I already know it's not rubbish ) and came across this .... Easi-chick . Anyone used it?
Patricia W
Looks interesting ANH. They seem to be supplying large units though - minimum order is 32 bales..
Ain't Nobody Here
Yes, I saw that . I wonder if they supply any of the places that sell Easibed by the bale?
Jules.
We went to a new feed shop yesterday & hubby asked could they get aubiose. They said yes, no problem. Only problem is, hubby forgot to ask them the price of it
scarlettohara
I couldn't get any from my usual supplier (Titmuss) and was given some hemp bedding instead but doesn't look very nice
daxigirl
I'm a Bliss user. Comes in citronella or eucalyptus flavours, not overpoweringly so. The girls seems happy with it. @ £8 a bale.
scarlettohara
It smells OK but has strange long black pellets in it

Minnie&Moose
For anyone near Oxford having problems getting Aubiose - the branch of Seeneys just outside Garsington on the road to Wheatley has Aubiose and haven't, as yet, had any problems getting it. daxigirl
Ooo I haven't seen any long black bits in the 2 bales I've had.
clucker1
Does anyone know where you can buy aubiose in Surrey? More specifically, Dorking/Reigate/Guildford or West Sussex. Just tried using wood chips today in chickens poo trays as opposed to just newspaper and miles better, now looking at everyone else's recommendations and aubiose seems to get the thumbs up from the forum. Thank you in advance of your pearls or wisdom!
The Dogmother
Try calling up the numbers on the Aubiose and/or Hemcore sites; they're pretty helpful.
Wolfie
I saw this post and thought have we cornered the market as we seem to have a vast amount of Aubiose in our garage. We don't seem to use much because Mr Wolfie is excellent at poo-picking! I would recommend our supplier on the South Nottingham/North Leicester border: BAGFORCE Limited Stathern Lane Harby LE14 4DA Telephone: 01949 869486 They also supply Garvo and Smallholder Allen & Page foods. Good prices, Aubiose £8.99 a 20kg bale - and really good old fashioned service.
enpekt
We have used Hemcore as our supplier couldn't get Auboise a a sensible price in the far reaches of Lincolnshire. However, it is thought that there is a better market for hemp based products in the building trade as insulation. I know that an interior walling system made from straw was in use some 25 years ago. Stramit from memory. I expect hemp has better insulating properties than straw, so can see the logic. We've tried Easibed, which smells nice and woody and is currently on our trial, and have purchased a citronella spray to use for bug control in the Summer. The jury's out at this time... How many drops and rough size of bottle, please, completely dim question I'm afraid!
The Dogmother
Not dim at all I just use the scientific measure known as 'a few drops' it isn't crucial, but just enough to make it whiff, probably 3-4 drops.
soapdragon
Ummmm - I am probably being really stupid but what is this stuff and what is everyone doing with it ? We just put a bit of straw in the nestbox bit of the Eglu. Is this OK or should we be using something else? (Guess you can always tell the newbies on the block!! ) Having read the whole of this thread I somehow feel we are failing our girls We are in South Oxfordshire and have places at both Wallingford and Thame which should stock alternatives so should I try there or is straw fine? Thanks Korma Kiev Casserole
