Alis girls
And the award for the daftest OH on a Good Friday goes to ......................sound of fanfare - my OH. Go to Tescos early and sent OH off to get the paper whilst I looked for undies for my sons - but thats another story he came back grinning broadly. He'd had a rummage and found the papers on display to be a tad thin and lacking in news and had marched up to the counter and asked the friendly lady there " why are the papers so thin, wheres the supplement?" Friendly lady smiles and said " its Friday sir - supplements are only at the weekend" He said she'd given him a strained smile which probably meant she'd had this converstaion several times that morning and it was only 9 am. By 5pm she'll be snarling at the next twonk who asks such daft questions. Got home and spotted Jehovahs witnesses doing the rounds. Got the bags inside so quick - bad back n all. Cue for the cross old lady routine as its Easter and I dont want them invading my space and my time . Good luck with it - we have a large number of Jewish folk round here so they wont get far- waste of time. I asked YS whos in his underpants to answer the door if they knock - that should scare them off. They will think its a house full of nudists or scantily clad folk. I might answer the door myself in my undies - that would scare anyone off. mwah mwah

The Dogmother
I've had a lovely day too Ali; went down to see my folks, Mummy was quite lucid, greeted me with a lovely smile and said 'lovely' It's been ages since I heard her form a proper word. She doesn't know who I am, but we had a nice, quiet time, i cooked them lunch (Pops' favourite homemade bakewell tart), and he and I pottered around their garden. I also took the devide down so Agnes my one remaining ex batt is now with the 3 remaining hybrids. DS and his girlfriend came for dinner yesterday which was lovely and DD and girls are coming tomorrow for lunch. I hope everyone is having a nice Easter. The Dogmother
I had an email from a new neighbour this morning; they are clearing out their shed and have found 2 old chimney pots and a Belfast sink.... 'naturally' they thought of me I am going to check them out this evening. I guess I will be barrowing them back home later.
Alis girls
I always worry when people say "thought of you" normally means they think you are a bit cuckoo to quote my Hungarian colleague! In my case prob correct.
The Dogmother
I think what they meant is that they like things modern and minimalist, whereas my house and garden are in keeping with the Victorian architecture, and I have a lot of salvaged stuff on my patio. Alis girls
Sounds ok to me Clare - I like stuff around me but do de clutter now and then. Lets hope they mean that! Personally i think : you are probably the sanest person on the forum.
The Dogmother
*splutters* I doubt that! Had a bizarre day today: was supposed to get the train up to Birmingham with a colleague to attend a training session. Met them at the station, and found out that our train was delayed due to a fatality on the line near Oxford, our train eventually arrived, we got on and travelled up towards Birmingham; the train stopped at Hatton and the driver announced that the train would be terminating there due to 'an incident' further up the line After much faffing about, it reversed all the way back and we got off back at Banbury and went into work... we didn't want to go to the training session anyhow. I feel sorry for the families and the train drivers involved in both those fatalities

Lewis
Very pretty! Kosice where I live is in a massive bowl, I live on the 8th floor of our building looking over the city so get some awesome sunsets We went on a mini Euro trip last weekend to Bratislava, Brno and Vienna - had an awesome time. Austria was beautiful and we definitely want to go back, hopefully to Prague later in the year.

The Dogmother
I am sorely tempted.... was up at a friend's earlier today and they had the loveliest little Araucana x Leghorn pullets - pure white, with little head tufts and black/grey splodges. Very fine-boned like a Leggie, and they are bred to lay enormous blue eggs One settled in my arms as I was talking, and she tucked her head under my hand and had a snooze. I may have to go back tomorrow I think I am smitten!

Cat tails
Had the same with a friend who went to pick up her kitten and asked if I could come with her since she doesn't have a car. (Well I don't either, but I could borrow one.) All kittens, apart from one little female were reservered and the people kept stuffing the kitten in my hands in the hope I would take it home. Luckily I didn't have €600 on hand ! It was a pure breed Sphinx. Lovely looks, but so high maintenance! Edit: it's the pink little lady on the left. The kitten on the right is the one my friend got. Lewis
That kitten I've wanted a Devon Rex for years! Want to call him Trevor I might have to pay the yard a visit when I'm back for summer Dogmother - they sound nice! We lost a Cream Legbar last week, she was about 6 so had a good innings but I think we need more big girls for eggs this year rather than Pekins, especially as I'm away and the littlies with feathered feet need more looking after.
