I am of the opinion that those who don't believe do not get visits from the specialist mystical departments.  Besides who wants to be responsible for Tinkerbell's demise!!!  I was in negotiation with the tooth fairy the other week when my cap broke off with the remaining tooth inside it.  I'm shortly to commence implant treatment.  Tooth fairy says it's the tooth, the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth - and caps don't count.

I do worry about Father Christmas - in spite of my son's opinions. After all he is an elderly, overweight (if not obese) male and so surely in the vulnerable category. I do appreciate that he is probably currently in a bubble with Mrs Christmas and the elves but that won't be possible when delivering presents. Equally, does the 'rule of 6' apply to reindeer? If so then the whole process will be much slower this year.  It's all very bothersome.

I had a very sneaky holiday in Germany during half term. It was very quiet, hardly any guests in the hotel. But also very Autumnal and I loved it!

I did have my Corona test before leaving and antibody testing too. Both negative. Was only asked to show them once, when I ordered some cake... 🤷🏼‍♀️

It was a cheesecake with poppy seeds and pears! Worth getting a corona test for! 😉

My thoughts EXACTLY when I saw that yummy pic 🤣. Love the other pictures - looks very peaceful.

So pleased and relieved for the US and the world 🇺🇸🌍

But think of the humorous opportunities lost 🙄.....I do have doubts as to whether the removal lorry will be calling at The White House though; suspect heels will be dug in!!!!!!

Lovely pictures and thatcake looks scrumptious. Glad I am past the Father Christmas stage, I dont think I could explain social distancing of elves reindeer etc to a child and then expain why FC can come in a house but friends cant. AAAAh too much for my brain. I think false news of a vaccine in 3 weeks and GP surgeries being open over Christmas is making me grumpy, I dont want to give up not seeing family after months apart. If that makes me selfish dont care.

Sorry stressful week. A  bit of pear cake wouldnt go amiss.

Yes its making me anxious.  I feel sure my Mum is going to be on her own for Xmas Day, and although she has spent her life saying she doesn't care about Xmas, it makes me feel very bad.  So many memories are bound up in family christmas traditions aren't they?

Love your pictures Cat tails - a real pick me up.

This is the first year that I did not cook for my Mum on Mother's Day, have them over for Easter, or cook for my Dad on Father's Day.

I'm really hoping that this isn't the first Christmas that I don't get to cook for them.

Hope you can at least deliver their dinner. Maybe get some carollers to join you! But will definitely not be the same. My mom and me gave up on big dinners a few years ago and just spend Christmas day doing a puzzle. Just ordered this year’s Christmas puzzle. 😉

Unfortunately, they live 45 minutes away - so not too far - but they would have to put their dinner in the microwave.

Doing a Christmas puzzle sounds so lovely.

Pretty certain I also have a festive puzzle that we could do too .......

Maybe a selection of dishes you can eat “cold”? Quiches, salads etc?

Last year I cooked the turkey because my daughter’s oven is dodgy and transported it 45 minutes.  It worked as that was the resting time.  This year, I’m telling my kids (3 in this country] if larger groups are allowed they should gey together for the 5 grandkids sake and we’ll be ok.   Actually, it would be the first time since 1972 that OH and I have been alone for Xmas!  Quite looking forward to it!

Just seen on MSN an article about the head of the British Army being 'lost' on Salisbury Plain! He was reported 'missing in action' when it was realised the the helicopter which was taking him to visit a specific excercise on the Plain had dropped him in the wrong place in the 300sq mile training area. Apparently he was found, after a while, by a 'greeting party'. The Army claim 'he was never actually lost, just not where we were expecting him'. You couldn't make it up!

have been diagnosed with mild shingles and am on anti virals - 5 a day - good luck with those me thinks - if I have antibiotics I forget them :shameonu: Feel very "coldey" but took yesterday off and they said I can do a half day at work tommorrow if I feel up to it. The rash is under my clothes so no risk to patients. I hate taking time off especially as the partner in the Gp practice was really nice on the phone. We have had a bad time with sickness amongst the nursing staff recently. Frankly have had enough daytime TV to last a lifetime.

Hope you feel better soon.  I had shingles a couple of years ago and didn’t know what had hit me! Take care and rest when you can.
